The Qatar scholarship for African students is provided by Qatar University to non-Qatari undergraduate students including African students who have demonstrated talent in the disciplines of science, technology, innovation, literature, the arts, media, and athletics. Requirements for Qatar Scholarship for African Students application:

  • The candidate must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • A minimum GPA of 80% in high school.
  • The applicant must succeed in the committee’s in-person interview.
  • The applicant must satisfy the program’s minimal admissions requirements in order to be accepted.
  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation from esteemed organizations pertinent to the applicant’s area of talent are required to support the application.
  • The applicant must submit a portfolio letter showcasing his or her abilities and demonstrating recent successes in the talent sector, specifically in one of the following fields: sports, media, science (including all literary and scientific domains), technology, and innovation.
  • A physical examination form filled out by a healthcare professional (family doctor or general practitioner) and a signed history and medical information form are necessary to be submitted by applicants for the field of sports talent, in addition to passing a physical fitness test at Qatar University.
  • Except for international students, the applicant cannot receive this award and another scholarship at the same time (terms and conditions apply).
  • For the purpose of earning a new academic degree, applicants who have already received the full benefits of this scholarship are not entitled to do so again.
  • The scholarship must be used beginning with the semester in which it was granted. If necessary, international students may delay the commencement of their studies by one semester with the scholarship committee’s permission. The scholarship will be terminated and the student will be notified by QU email if they fail their first semester.

Conditions for Qatar Scholarship for African Students Continuity:

  • The pupil must keep up a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5/4.0.
  • A minimum of 12 hours must be satisfactorily completed by the student each semester.
  • The student must routinely represent the university locally and abroad in the arts.
  • The student must not stay past the time required for graduation under the terms of his or her program.
  • Until graduation, the student must maintain continuous enrollment (fall and spring).
  • The student must be dedicated to talent development and ongoing practice.
  • Scholarship recipients are expected to follow Qatar University’s academic rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must follow the general requirements to maintain the scholarship.

Documents needed for Qatar Scholarship for African Students:

  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation from esteemed organizations pertinent to the applicant’s area of talent are required to support the application.
  • The applicant must submit a portfolio letter along with a link to a video of supporting files that are large file size and demonstrate the applicant’s talent and recent achievements in the field of talent, specifically in one of the following areas: media, athleticism, technology and innovation, literature, art (including painting, sculpture, calligraphy, and similar arts), and scientific research (includes all literary and scientific fields).

How to Apply for Qatar Scholarship for African Students

During the designated application time, the applicant may submit an online entrance application for the Qatar talent scholarship for African students on the “Scholarship Application” page.

The applicant is requested to upload the required supporting papers showcasing his/her talent and achievements.

Procedures for application and evaluation:

  • During the designated application period, students use the online admission application to submit their applications for admission and scholarships.
  • The first-semester certificate of grade twelve and the final certificate of grade eleven must be uploaded by students enrolled in non-government Qatari schools or private schools within Qatar. If the student finished grade twelve, only the grade twelve final certificate needs to be submitted.
  • The applicant must submit a minimum of two recommendation letters via the online admission application from reputable organizations pertinent to the applicant’s area of talent.
  • In order to highlight his or her talent and to demonstrate recent accomplishments in one of the following talents—science research (which includes all art and scientific fields), technology, innovation, literature, art (which includes painting, sculpture, calligraphy, and similar arts),—applicant must submit a letter summarizing their talent, achievements, and awards received along with a link to large-size files, including videos and any other supporting documents (e.g. on Dropbox or OneDrive).
  • To determine the applicant’s eligibility and qualifications, the applicant’s files will be examined, and interviews will be held. Shortlisted candidates will be the top ones in each talent sector.
  • Within six weeks after the online scholarship application deadline, a first conditional acceptance letter outlining the requirements that must be satisfied and the paperwork needed to receive the final acceptance will be issued to the nominated candidates.
  • International students will be informed when the university has applied for their visas after sending the necessary paperwork.
  • In accordance with the specified timeframe, students will receive emails containing the final acceptance and scholarship decisions.
