What is the posse scholarship?

Do the Posse scholarship cover room and board?

Room and board are still the responsibility of the student so the posse scholarship does not cover the room and board as you will be the one responsible for it.

Posse scholarship eligibility

To be eligible for the posse scholarship, firstly you need to be nominated, which can be done by you, a counselor, a community foundation, or an Alumni Posse Scholar. Moreover, you must be:

• Be chosen through a nomination made by their high school or a local group.
• Currently enrolled in their senior year of high school. Before the start of the new academic year, nominations are frequently accepted between the spring and early August, depending on the Posse city.
• Show leadership in their high school, their neighborhood, or their family.

You can also join clubs that emphasize intercultural cooperation while you’re still in school. Select a group that interests you and is both different from you and your upbringing.

• Volunteer

Engage in volunteer opportunities that motivate you before you start your senior year. You have a range of options, such as regional food banks, homeless shelters, etc. When you’ve discovered your passion, invest more time in it and look for leadership positions.

• Prepare to speak in public

Speaking to the public is a key component of becoming a Posse scholar. Every other week, speak in front of a group of close friends and family members who will offer you constructive criticism. Enjoy yourself by picking a variety of themes.

How to apply for a posse scholarship

For the Posse Scholarship, more than 17,000 students from all over the nation submitted nominations.
