How to get a Google Ph.D. Fellowship

To get the Google ph.D. fellowship program the university must nominate PhD candidates. During the application time, applications must be filed by an authorized university representative.

To apply for the Google Ph.D. fellowship application program here are the documents you will submit to your university:

  • The main advisor’s brief (1-page) resume for the student
  • Student resume including, if possible, links to publications and websites
  • two to three reference letters (at least one from the thesis advisor) from people who have seen the nominee’s work
  • Cover sheet bearing the signature of the Department Head or Chair attesting to the student’s fulfillment of the prerequisites. The student’s UIN, PhD semester of matriculation, expected graduation term, completed coursework, current financing, and Google job should all be included in this paragraph. (Refer to the FAQ “What are the requirements for students to be eligible?”); [A form is not supplied]
  • Abstract of 1,000 characters (including spaces)
  • Research/dissertation proposal including references (maximum 8 pages)
  • Student response essay (maximum 350 words) to: Explain the intended influence your study will have on the community and the field, and why this matters to you. Mention any experiences—personal, professional, educational, or otherwise—that have inspired your areas of interest in study.
  • Essay answers from students (maximum 350 words) to Give an example of how you have led people in a constructive way, assisted in resolving conflicts or supported team initiatives throughout time. (A leadership position is not limited to a job title. It can entail leading by example when planning an event or project, serving as someone else’s mentor, or taking command of a particular activity. Consider your accomplishments and the lessons you took away from the experience. What duties did you have? Were you a team leader? In what ways has your experience altered the way you think about leading others? Have you assisted in settling a significant conflict at your place of worship, school, neighborhood, or workplace? Furthermore, you don’t have to confine your leadership responsibilities to school-related events. For instance, do you support or look after your family?)

Google Ph.D. fellowship India Program Eligibility

Before you can apply for this program you must fulfill all of the following requirements in order to be considered for the Google PhD Fellowship for Africa, India, and East Asia:

  • PhD candidates enrolled full-time in graduate programs at universities in the aforementioned locations.
  • completed graduate work by the time the Fellowship starts, which is the academic award year.
  • The Fellowship must be completed by the students full-time in the PhD program; otherwise, they will not get the prize.
  • Employees of Google, as well as their spouses, kids, and household members, are not eligible.
  • Students who are not eligible are those who are currently receiving funding from a similar industry prize. Funding from the government or nonprofit organizations is excluded.

How much is the Google PhD fellowship?

The money is sent straight to the institution, which will use it to pay the student’s tuition and, if needed, stipend. Furthermore, a Google Research Mentor will be paired with the student. The student and Google do not have an employment relationship as a consequence of the fellowship.

The honor does not make one ineligible for future internships or job possibilities at Google, nor does it make those opportunities more likely. Students are welcome to apply for positions at Google and are subject to the same recruiting procedures as other applicants.
